Children's Day Out

Children’s Day Out provides care for children aged infant through five years in a loving Christian atmosphere. We offer quality childcare in a non-daycare setting, a trusted and caring staff, socialization, a safe environment, and meaningful age-appropriate activities.

We also offer early drop off at an additional cost, for children ages 2 ½ through Pre-K.

Attendance Options

Children’s Day Out has a capacity for 38 children at any given time. We offer flexible attendance options:

Enrollment

Enrollment in CDO is for a minimum of 2 ½ hours with arrival times beginning at 9:00 am, 11:30 am, or 12:30 pm. Since our program is not a daycare program, we have limited enrollment as follows:

Tadpoles – no limit on visits per week
Pollywog / Frogling Unit – 2 visits per week
Frog Room – 3 visits per week

Children may drop out of the enrollment program with two-week’s notice, and refunds will be made for paid days beyond this notice.

Advance Reservations

Advance Reservations do not require ongoing enrollment. All reservations are for a minimum time of 2-1/2 hours, with starting times of 9:00, 11:30 or 12:30.

Members of Kirkwood United Methodist Church may make reservations up to 4 weeks in advance.

Non-members may make reservations no more than 2 weeks in advance.

Reservations may be made in person, or by phone at 314-966-5223. Press 2 to reach CDO.

KUMCC Preschool parents needing CDO for any pre-approved preschool functions should reserve these CDO times as soon as the dates are known. Volunteers may make reservations with starting times of 8:45 am. Persons seeking to make a reservation after the maximum has been reached may not do so even though it is for volunteering or other pre-approved preschool function.

Drop-In Service

Drop-In Service does not require enrollment or advanced reservation, but is limited to one drop-in space available each morning at the time of opening in the Tadpole Room, the Pollywog / Frogling Rooms and the Frog Room.

Spaces are on a first-come, first-serve basis, with priority given to persons in the building when we open at 9:00 am. You may call at 9:00 am to see if spaces are still available.

The minimum Drop-In charge is for one hour.

Early Drop Off

KUM Preschool, in cooperation with Children’s Day Out, is opening their Early Morning Drop-Off to CDO attendees ages 2 1⁄2 through Pre-K.

Drop-Off begins at 8:00 am and your child will be brought to CDO at the 9:00 am opening. The cost is $8.00/hour and attendance is by enrollment only. Please call KUMCC at 314-966-5223 to enroll.
